Dr. Gregory P. Rogers
Dr. Rogers came to Oakmont in September 1983 as associate minister for
three years, and has served as pastor since October 1986. Greg is a 1979
graduate of N.C. State University with BA in philosophy and religion. He
holds the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest.
Rev. Michael R. McKnight
Rev. McKnight is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, arrived at Oakmont in
June 1993 as Minister of Youth and Music. In 1996 he became Oakmont's first
full-time minister of music. A graduate of the University of Tennessee with
a Bachelor of Music degree in 1977 and a Master of Music degree from Golden
Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, near San Francisco.
Rev. Beth M. Thompson
Rev. Thompson completed her undergraduate work at Campbell University in
Buies Creek, North Carolina in religious education in 1979. From there she
went on to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest where
she earned the Master of Religious Education degree. Beth has served as our
Minister of Education since May 1994.
Rev. Stephen C. Harding
Rev. Harding, grew up in North Carolina, mostly in Charlotte and Rich Square, came to Greenville and East Carolina University
in 1983 as a student. Before graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree,
Steve was Youth Minister at Piney Grove Baptist Church-home of The Message of Easter.
Steve returned to ECU in 1988 for a Master of Arts degree in English and began attending
Oakmont Baptist Church. In 1998, Steve began his theological studies at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek.
After receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 2002, Steve became our Minister of Media, Arts
and Children.
