You’ve probably heard it as many times as I have; Oh, those kids, teach them well for they are the leaders and the church of tomorrow. While I do agree that we should teach our children and teenagers well, youth are not only the church of tomorrow, they are a living and vital part of the church of today! When Christ prayed in the garden before His crucifixion, He prayed for believers to be unified and sanctified in the truth, sent into the world and Christ himself was sent into the world(John 17:17-18). He wasn’t speaking of only adult believers or Christians of a certain age; He was talking about all believers in His righteousness for salvation! Christ prayed that all believers, those trusting in Him for salvation, would be purified through His truth and on mission in their world. What does this mean for teenagers today? First of all, it means that if you are a believer in Christ Jesus, you are part of the body of Christ and a part of His church. It also implies that if you are a part of the body of Christ, you are necessary and needed-a useful part of the kingdom. Third, it means that as a part of the body of Christ, you are responsible for encouraging others in the body in their growth with Christ. Christ desires that all believers, not matter what their age, have a vital role in growing His Kingdom!! For now, I want you to remember this...though you are young, if you are a believer in Christ, you have a role in His kingdom-and it is just as important as anyone else’s!

Love in Christ,

Amy
