Growing up in a small town on a farm outside Reidsville, NC, I was blessed with a close-knit family that taught me the value of hard work and determination.  I went to church regularly and learned how God's love for me never fails and never ends.  In college at NC State, I went from knowing about God to knowing God in a real and personal way.  I went into college with pre-med dreams and left college heading to divinity school, though still not quite sure where my life fit into God's big plan.

I graduated from NC State in 1999, married my husband Craig that August and started Campbell University Divinity School two weeks later.  I worked with youth and college students in part time positions while in divinity school but it wasn't until graduating from Campbell that I began to seriously consider student ministry full time.  That serious consideration landed us at Oakmont where I began working as Minister to Youth and College in August of 2004.

I work with all ages of students, from those entering middle school to those graduating from college and I love the fresh energy of student ministry.  There is nothing like seeing students complete the High Expedition Backpacking Trip when they doubted they would ever try it.  It is exciting to dialogue with students about their faith and to listen to questions about how their life fits into God's plan.  I love seeing it "click" for students when they realize that God wants a real and personal faith relationship with them

In August of 2008, my husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter Abby into the world.  Never have I understood God's love for us in such an overwhelming way as I have since becoming a parent.  Outside of Oakmont you can find me running with ORuBo, backpacking, spending time with my family and two Labrador retrievers Ellie and Mollie.
