Care Team

Care Team is a meeting of Oakmonters who gather together for the purpose of being the presence of Christ through outreach, inreach, sending cards, making phone calls, and prayer.

WHO:  Anyone wanting to be the presence of Christ to others can be a part of Care Team.   

WHEN:  Care Team will meet on designated Sunday afternoons, once a month at 3 o'clock until 5 o'clock.  [During Daylight Saving Time begins, the group will meet from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.]

WHERE:  The Care Team will begin in the Fellowship Hall with a brief time of welcome and prayer.  Then the participants will be divided into groups based on their interests.

WHAT: Areas of interest include Outreach, Inreach, Card Writing, Phone Calls, and Prayer.

Areas of Interest Each area of interest is under the supervision of a coach who will instruct team members in their activities for the afternoon.  Activities for the different areas may include:

  • Outreach Visit prospects     
  • Inreach Ministry visits to members and regular attenders with special   situations including, recent bereavement, hospital stays, and those who are homebound.    
  • Card Writing Cards will be sent to Oakmonters and prospects for well wishes, bereavement, and a variety of situations in which a card would be appropriate.    
  • Phone Calls Phone calls need to be made for both outreach and inreach purposes.   These calls might be made to those who visit the church but live out of the normal visitation area, as well as those who are homebound, those who have been hospitalized, or those who experienced the death of a family member.    
  • Prayer This group will pray for the entire "Care Team" process.
