Preschoolers
Preschoolers do learn and they can learn about God. There is no other comparable span of life in which a person learns so fast. The preschool years-ages birth through kindergarten-provide the time to lay the foundation for your child's spiritual development. Our goal is to prepare your child for a later personal relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages during the 9:40 and 11:00 a.m. sessions. We also provide Preschool Choirs on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. and mission groups (Mission Friends) on Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. Thoughout the year we provide spiritual formation classes, special events, and chances to attend mission projects and camps.
Keeping Preschoolers Safe
All of our workers with preschoolers, children, and youth are Oakmont members and complete a Childcare Worker's Application. Some things parents can do to keep their preschoolers safe...
- Please do not leave your child in an unattended room.
- Please do not leave your child with only one teacher present.
- All preschoolers must remain with their parents or guardian prior to scheduled activities.
- Preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult to their room.
- For most events, pagers and labels are given to parents/guardians of preschoolers upon arrival.
- Fill out label information completely. Pagers must be returned before your child can leave.
- When an activity is over, please pick up your child promptly.
- Teachers cannot give medication to preschoolers
- Personal toys, books, and other items are not to be brought to church. All material necessary for a happy experience is provided by the church.
- Feeding: Infants are given fluids brought in plastic bottles labeled with the child's name. Time and circumstances do not allow for spoon feeding.
