Sunday School

Oakmont offers two models of Sunday School classses for adults—Traditional Format and Community Groups:

Community Groups

A unique challenge in our busy world is that many miss the joy of deep relationships with friends and neighbors.  Therefore, in our adult Sunday School Communites at Oakmont, we seek to emphasize that sense of community within our church family by partnering people of similar life issues and interests for Bible study and fellowship.

An Adult Sunday School Community is a loosely age graded group of people who gather on Sunday mornings for Bible study and fellowship.

These Sunday School Communities vary in age and size, but function in a similar fashion with five, ten-week terms per year.  During the Sunday School hour, the first twenty minutes are dedicated to food, fellowship, and prayer time which allows the teacher forty minutes for the days lesson.

Traditional Format

There are adult classes offered during the 8:20, 9:40, and 11:00 a.m Sunday School hours.  The 8:20 Hour offers classes primarily for our Senior Adults.  The 9:40 and 11:00 Sunday School hours offer classes for adults of all ages.
